Grower
The Role
- The Grower’s primary role is to manage all aspects of plant health: nutrition and required spec to achieve the highest quality. This role will be in guidance with the Head Grower and Production Manager. The Grower will work closely with the Production Manager, Pesticide Applicator Supervisor and Growing Supervisor. Emphasis will be determining crop spacing projects, irrigation timing, pesticide, fungicide and PGR’s reports.
- Involved with all things plant related. This includes but is not limited to: Water management, temperature regulation, fertilization, supplemental lighting, black cloth, pest management, PGR’s, root development and more.
- Daily/weekly scouting for pests, disease and apply best IPM practices to enact.
- Assist Head Grower with compliance and record keeping on all spray sheets
- Monitor functioning of greenhouse, production and irrigation equipment regularly
- Oversee plant nutrition program - monitor fertilizer levels daily and adjust accordingly
- Review crop schedules and adjust as needed - communicating to operations and sales
- Awareness of ship dates on all crops to occur with plant specs and quality.
- Understanding of crop specs, lead times and finish dates
- Lead spacing/moving programs for highest quality in a timely manner
- Assist in inventory counts of pots, soil, containers, chemicals and PPE
- Communicate with Head Grower crop updates and needs for attention
- Hold monthly safety meetings with small groups/teams
- Attend weekly operations meeting.
- You will report directly to the Head Grower
- Coordination with Irrigation Supervisor, Pesticide Applicator Supervisor
- Leading teams and coordinating labor for spacing/growing projects.

- A monthly payment of $50 per month towards your mobile phone bill, to be paid on the 1st or 4th Friday of the month, at the company’s discretion.
- Continuing educational material for Private Pesticide Applicator License. State fees and CEU’s will be compensated.

- Vacation- 5 days of vacation after one year anniversary. Additional 5 days after 3 years.

- 5+ years of greenhouse/nursery production experience
- Current or Past Pesticide Applicator License
- College Degree in science related background
